LCBO cooking classes

  • f

Has anyone taken any cooking classes at LCBO? I know they are one night courses. Is it worth the price? What exactly do you get?

  1. My wife and I took one of their courses 2 years ago.
It was held in Brampton, cost $60.00 apiece, and the
theme was lobster. It was a demo course and there
were wine pairings with the courses.
If memory serves me correctly we had:
1st: lobster cakes with a mango jicama slaw.
Soup: Roasted fennel and tomato soup (in a lobster
    stock) with tail meat garnish.
Main: Lobster ravioli (can't remember what it was
    served with)
Dessert: Lemon tart with grapefruit sorbet.
We felt it was very good value for the meal itself and
we did get ideas to try. Food was very good.
I've only taken the one but based on it I would con-
    sider another.
The only thing that bothered me was the chef threw
away (!) the lobster coral and tomalley.

Did they make you cook anything? Was it hands-on?

It was a demo. No hands on.
